Community design workshops and visioning tools
Community members should shape the spaces where they live. Communities know what they need, and I believe that the purpose of these design workshops and tools is to help them detail their needs and then find ways to connect them to resources and skills to fulfill them. They also help them tap into expertise (like lived experiences) that they already have.
Here are two examples of community design workshops - one for the renovation of local Brooklyn Public Library branches, and the other for an agri community that covers 100+ acres in Madison Wisconsin.
